Located along the Great Glen half way between Fort William and Inverness, Stravaigers Lodge offers the perfect base for a wide variety of activities. The family-run centre is the perfect base to walk, tour and discover the Western Highlands. Inverness Area
A tip to Inverness has plenty to offer, apart from the excellent shopping!  En route you will pass along the length of Loch Ness, and the picturesque ruins of Urquhart Castle.  A little further on from the castle at Drumnadrochit is the Loch Ness Monster Exhibition.  From there it's a 10 mile drive on to the Highland Capital, which has a museum, leisure centre and ice rink, Cruises along Loch Ness, and Whale watching cruises available, amongst many others.  A little further on from Inverness is Culloden, site of the last battle fought on British soil in 1746 with its excellent brand new visitor centre.

Fort William Area
Fort William is set at the foot of Ben Nevis. It has a leisure centre, Nevis Range ski centre with its year round gondola ride (which takes you up Aonach Mor adjacent to Ben Nevis), Mountain Bike courses, Quad Bike activities and of course plenty of shops. The Jacobite steam train leaves Fort William during theh summer on its scenic trip to Mallaig, via the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct (of Harry Potter fame).  Fort William has the ruins of Old Inverlochy Castle, which is worth a visit.
